Charcoal, charcoal, charcoal.  We've all heard of it and love its beautiful color, but what can it really do when you put it in a bar of soap?  Activated charcoal (carbon) is 100% alkaline, its negative ionic charge attracts positive ionic charges (like toxins and poisons), causing them to absorb or bind with the molecule.  So basically, charcoal in your soap = a heightened level of cleaning and clearing toxins from the skin.  Activated charcoal is also used to make many different skin care products due to the benefits from its ability to relieve acne, to whiten teeth, and remove body odors.
